How To Pray: Tips On How To Develop A Personal Prayer Practice

Updated: Apr 13

Jesus longs to have a relationship with you. Prioritizing prayer and spending time with God is the most important thing you can do!

In the video below, I share some tips and suggestions on how you can develop a personal prayer practice.

I hope that you find this helpful in deepening your relationship with Christ!

PRAYERS MENTIONED IN THIS VIDEO:

Our Father:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.

(Also see, Matthew 6:5-15 which was read.)

Hail Mary:

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;

blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Forgiveness Prayer Examples:

To Ask God For Forgiveness:

Act Of Contrition

O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee,

and I detest all my sins because of thy just punishments,

but most of all because they offend Thee, my God,

who art all good and deserving of all my love.

I firmly resolve with the help of Thy grace to sin no more

and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.

To Ask God To Help You Forgive Others:

Heavenly Father, I ask you to help me to forgive the people in my life who have wronged me. Please help me to be free from the feelings of resentment, anger, bitterness and unforgiveness towards them. I ask that you fill my heart with your unwavering love and help me to forgive like you. Help me to heal and grow and love like you, so that others may see your love through me. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name. Amen.
